Documents to Submit
• Visa application form done in one copy; Click here to download the application form
• One recent passport-size photograph of the applicant;
• Passport with at least six months validity is required (applicants who require 6 months to a one year visa should have their passport valid for the duration of stay);
• In case of business visa, support letter from the employing company and/or invitation letter from the host company in Ethiopia;
• Residence permit for non-Benelux passport holders;
• Travel itineraries of the applicant or attestation letter from a travel agency for making reservation for the intended journey.
Filling the applications
Applicants may fill Visa application form in person at the Embassy during working hours (Monday thru Friday from 09:00-13:00 hrs) of the Consular Services at embassy.
By Post:
Applicants shall submit all the required documents stated above under ’1′ together with self addressed stamped envelop for their return mail. While applications by mail are encouraged, Embassy is not responsible for passports or other documents lost. Therefore, the Embassy recommends all applicants to come in person or use well sealed registered mail.
In Person:
Applications could be submitted during working hours of the Consular Services of the Embassy (09:00-13:00 hrs). Visa is given on a first come first served principle.
Visa on arrival:
If you are a national of Benelux countries, and if your purpose for traveling to Ethiopia is for Tourism, you may apply for a Tourist Visa on arrival. This service is available only at Bole International airport.
Nationals of the following countries may apply for a tourist visa on arrival: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Democratic people’s Republic of Korea (Northern Korea), Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea (south Korea), the Russian Federation, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America.
NOTE: Eritreans and foreign nationals of Eritrean Origin must obtain an entry visa prior to their departure to Ethiopia.
Settling visa fees:
If applications are done by post, visa fee settlements should be done through the embassy’s postal address with a return postage paid by the applicant.

*Gratis Visa is issued only on Diplomatic and Service passports and Laissez-passer of International Organizations. The request should be accompanied by an official Note Verbal.
