According to an official publication of the African Union released in connection of the 50 years founding anniversary of the African Union said the booming city has become a magnet for overseas investment.

It said the city which is celebrating its 125th founding anniversary, provides a strategic vantage point to start business and investment. The city is putting place viable policy to make the metropolis a better and safer place to invest, it said.

The city government has put in place favorable policy and strategy including attractive incentives for investment, it said. It noted that robust peace and security reign across the country, abundant and cheap labour is the bedrock for boosting up investment in the city.

The city is a place where members of the international communities, nations and nationalities of the country live together in peace and harmony, it said.

It said most importantly culture of tolerance is the flagship of the city. The city is near the ports of Djibouti, Mombasa and Port Sudan. The six roads corridors that connect the city with other parts of the country branch out from the city, it said.

Moreover, it said the connection with Sudan, Djibouti and Nairobi via road has made the city an ideal place for investment.
